What Happened to the Southern Baptists?

Time : 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Description : The Southern Baptist Convention was founded in 1845. In the 1920s and 30s it condemned recourse to war and offered biblical justification for racial discrimination. By the 1970s it was involved in better opportunities and justice in the courts for Blacks. By the 1990s it expressed full support for militarism and the U.S.-initiated Persian Gulf War. What effected these changes of attitude and policy?John G. Bruneau recently retired as Dean and CEO of Gardner College, Camrose, where he taught for nine years. Prior to this he was pastor of First Baptist Church in Camrose. He has a strong interest in the public nature of Christian ethics.

Duggan Mall Walkers

Description : This program is open to older adults who wish to come to the mall to walk for leisure or physical activity. Membership is free and operates as a drop in program, meaning you can start and finish at your leisure. You are encouraged to record your distances with our mall walking volunteers so you can receive incentive rewards provided by the mall merchants. You are also invited to attend our Healthy Living Seminars and/or Fitness Evaluations that are scheduled throughout the year.

One Stroke Painting

Description : There will be 2 classes. The above noted time as well as again at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. for your convenience. Mention which time you wish to register for when you call.One stroke is a multi-loading style of decorative painting using Plaid Folk Art Paint, that is very friendly to novice painters. It is an attractive, less structured style that lends itself to freehand painting. Results are fast and you don't need to trace a pattern. Paint on wood, metal, plaster, glass, fabric, plastic and ceramic surfaces. Imagine blending, shading and highlighting all in ONE Stroke! You will be excited too, to find how easy ONE Stroke is.
