Students will be introduced to the tools and techniques that Jenny uses in her own professional practice. The focus of these classes is on the way in which one handles paint, rather than on creating specific imagery. Jenny Long completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2003 at Okanagan University College in Kelowna. Long spent a year in Denmark as an exchange student, where she was able to immerse herself in a foreign culture and subsequently realized her need to pursue visual arts on a scholastic level. Upon graduation in 2003, Long was honored with a Presidents Purchase Award for one of her paintings, along with an invitation to show at a commercial space in Kelowna. Since then, the Art Ark Gallery has been a successful viewing grounds for Longs paintings. The playful, intuitive approach to Longs painting is constantly rejuvinated by her students who remind her creative voice to remain true to its expression.
